EASY Salon Blowout at Home

EASY Salon Blowout at Home

Hello Foxies!  Welcome back to my blog!

And if you’re new here, my name is Veronica.  WELCOME!

I hope you are well.

Today I’m going to show you how I do an easy version of a salon blowout at home.

I have recently purchased a new brush.  I can’t say that I can necessarily recommend this brush.  It does work well, but I’m not happy about how light the handle is.

I’m excited because I haven’t been able to use my old brush lately.  The bristles have all melted down from the heat and the end keeps popping off.

The first thing I need to do is to make sure my hair is dry before I start the blowout.  This will help me to not use prolonged heat on my hair.

When I am drying my hair, I put it on the strongest wind speed and medium heat.

Because my hair is very thick in the back, I find it necessary to dry it in layers.

Now for the blowout.  I’m using my favorite coconut oil heat protectant.  To avoid making my hair greasy, I spritz a little into my hand and rub my palms together and rake it through my hair before applying heat.

I buy this at Sally’s which is a local beauty supply store.  I am not sponsored or affiliated to this company in any way.  I just like this spray a lot.

I tend to start at the middle back and work my way forward.  I first brush the hair out a bit and then place the brush behind the hair and roll it a little to grab the hair and kickstart the volume.

As I dry down the hair, I roll the brush to create a roundness to the hair.  I also take the same strand and reposition it up high again.  This helps to smooth the hair out.  When I have done this 2 to 3 times and I’m ready to release the hair,  I twist the brush around in the same direction I was drying it.  This helps the ends to be very soft with a tinny bit of round curl to the ends.  Then I throw that hair back and let it cool while I work on the next piece.

I haven’t really mastered the front yet, since I’m always experimenting with an ever growing longer bang.  I have been growing out my bangs since last fall, and they’re at a stage where curling them under or over may or may not work.  I just keep working with them until it looks acceptable.

Now, it’s time to fluff up my hair and rake through it with my fingers.

Voila!!
